It's water under the bridge
Long lost, long gone
Yet like a faint fragrance
It lingers on...
On days of mellow dreams,
With a sleepy surprise
The distant pull on the heartstrings
Just intensifies
The branches are no longer close
They have changed their twine
Then why do the roots yet,
Refuse to unwind ?
The rose has long since died
The petals are gone too
It's just the haunting fragrance.....
The fragrance of you.
